Year 8J - 3D Shapes

Students in 8J, the mainstream alternate class, have been exploring 3D shapes in Maths. As a culminating activity they planned, constructed and reflected on various creations using boxes and tins donated by staff from all across the College.  This reinforced learning about rectangular prisms and cylinders especially, and proved to be a fun and memorable way to consolidate learning.

Year 11/12 Hospitality

As part of their ‘Culinary Trends’ assessment project, Year 11/12 Applied Hospitality Practices developed and produced a selection of unique dishes, each reflecting modern food trends and sustainable practices, including eco-friendly packaging.

Some of our College ancillary staff were invited to dine on the takeaway meals, including baked feta pasta, cauliflower and chicken wraps, creamy garlic pasta, and chocolate mousse for dessert.  Students provided a brief introduction to dishes to explain the sustainable choices made, with staff later providing feedback.

The project provided students with a valuable real-world experience as they develop industry-standard skills in menu planning, production and professional service. Thank you to teacher Ms Chigeza and teacher aide Ms Stacey.
